Well I come to the HTC community for some help because I know you folks always respond fairly quickly and for the most part correctly.

Well, these blatant dickwads stole my passenger side light housing and in the process did a wonderful job on my front right quarter and bumper.

Just wondering what kind of damages am I looking at for an Inifiniti G35?
1 Light Housing
1 Front quarter panel passenger side needs to be repaired or replaced,
1 bumper (assuming they just replace the entire bumper)

Will the insurance company work with my dealership on repairs?

It's mostly just replacing stuff.

May as well bend over and drop your pants now.

Whatever each part costs (it will be replaced, doubt repaired) double it at the least and you'll have your total. That covers labor. In some cases, you can quadruple the price of the part - like for the light housing.

Don't know if insurance will cover it without any witnesses to the theft.

Sorry to hear that Blck. Call your insurance company. They will either have a preferred repair shop or allow you to get a bid at your choice of repair shops (I'm not sure if the dealership would be included in this)  Insurance will cover it without witnesses.

G35 is a sweet car!

I wouldn't take this to a dealer.  Find a good body shop, they can do all the work.  You insurance company should pay, minus the deductible (sp).

Dealerships are for a last resort situation only.

I'm going to agree here. A body shop can do a much better job.  They use the same parts as the dealer but have more experience repairing automobile exteriors.

You might want to check in your state, but some states prohibit Insurance companies from requiring you to use any particular shop.  It should be your choice who to use.  And it doesn't hurt to insist they use new OEM parts only.  You will be nicked for the deductible regardless, so get the best job you can with the best parts.

Also, file a police report if you haven't.  Helps with the Insurance company.

Thanks for the tips folks.

Not necesarily going through the dealership, but going with who the dealership outsources most of their body work to.  

I got a police report done, so all is covered in that regard.

As far as the g35 being a sweet car Rip, I just wish others didn't have such blatant disregard for others personal property. Since this happened I've been hearing reports of this kind of stuff happening all over southern florida. Its a widespread problem for mercedes to porches, and a few others.

I just wish, I could've see them in action....

There were some suspect groups sitting around the lot, that dispersed when the cops arrived, they only took one, why not both?  Seems they almost got caught...

I feel so bad because it seems I wished it upon myself, I had a feeling my baby was going to get hurt that evening, its the reason I parked it a bit further than usual.

I was an insurance adjuster with Nationwide for a while, if you drive an infinity you have between a $250-$500 deductible.  I'd get the police report done and just pay out of pocket (Its cheaper in the long run just to shell out up to about $1000-$1500 than it is to file a claim) to avoid a premium increase.  I can say that now I don't work for the company anymore, but every company is similar in that regard.

This will go under comprehensive coverage, and will be stuck to your claim history so when you get into a 'real' incident...they'll hit you with a good rate jump that's more than you would expect.

I've seen it happen with homeowners policies, folks will file a claim to replace a dozen shingles or a few feet of trim or siding.  $1200 damage, $1000 deductible and the payout is only $200, right?  In this example, something similar happened and Hurricane Isabel came along and flattened the home in Virginia.  Large Loss claim paid.  Contract renewal time, and a history (one claim every year and a half or so) checkup and its adios insurance policy due to too many claims.  This is an extreme case, but it happens and I like to advise people that it can happen.  (State Farm seems to be the worst in this regard in my experience, completely unscientific)

I remember a few years back my friend had his front headlights plucked from his Mercedes as if it was easy. No body damage, nothing.

What makes me mad is that there are people out there that do this mainly because either their exact car is missing a piece of damaged.  Rather than paying full price, they'd risk their record to steal.
