Romanian AK-47
Bulgarian Makarov

They came in last night..took them to the range today and am very pleased with what I got.  I was *really* surprised by the accuracy of the Makarov. Great fun, both of them.

Is the AK an open or closed bolt weapon?  I've allways been curious?

sportsman guide has barnaul hollow point ammo for the mak at about $100 a thousand.

Arlo... I just bought some rocks for the grandkids (mine and girlfriends) they were about $20 for a little handful.... you can buy a mint Makarov for about $150

you can get 75 round romanian drums for the AK.   I wouldn't mind haveing an AK myself.

The pistol is an incredible value. They're very inexpensive (paid $139 for the one pictured) but they're NOT cheap. Very accurate as well, and the sights were dead-on for me the first time I fired it. I'm very happy with it. I ordered both guns from http://www.aimsurplus.com. If you're interested, send me an email and I can hook you up with a good FFL holder here in town that won't gouge you.

yep.... pumped 500 rounds through one of the Maks I owned without cleaning it to see how reliable it was before giving it to a relative as personal protection... no failures of any kind with cheap wolf steel cased ammo... incredible.

as for the gun itself.... it is extremely well made with hard chrome barrel liner and comes with two mags... the gun is robust and simple and very accurate.   far from cheaply made... my guess is that it would sell for about  400-500 dollars if made here by an American company.

I'm considering ordering a couple more. I think they'd make great stocking stuffers. :D

yep... I bought 3 and gave away two.   I haven't even had time to shoot more than a couple of magazines through the one I kept.

inexpensive guns... cheap ammo... Bush win... life is good.
