Knight's airshow at A230 tonight...or how to auger with style
« on: October 05, 2004, 01:50:52 AM »
While out and about in a Spit V tonight I managed to get hit by flak over A230 which caused a fuel leak that lead to my running out of fuel.  I elected to put it on the ground at the enemy base since the ack was down and hope for a goonie to get in and take the base.

While I sat there in my smoking Spit, the Knights above, out of boredom more then anything else decided to start and airshow for a captive audience.

Low flying aerobatics to start which then evolved into flying through hangers which was when the fun really started.

Elfie in his 38 was first.  He, in true Nomadic fashion bounced off the floor of the hanger breaking his 38 in two and crashing.

WMSPIN then decided it was his turn and promptly scrapped the prop of his Tiffie off the ground and stopped his engine.  He roared past my Spit before crashing.

AceEnder, not to be outdone, rolled his Spit IX inverted and roared through the hanger.

only to bounce off the ground, break up his plane and roll it into a ball.

To finish things off, Pellik decided to try and either hatch my Spitfire or create a Spitfire Mark 38.  Didn't even take me to dinner either.  Wonder if I should tell my wife?

Needless to say it was good for some laughs on a rather quiet late night in AH2 :)

This is why we carry squirt bottles in the 479th.  Pellik gets quite amerous around Spitfires.

can anyone explain why, in the pic of the inverted spit, the mouse cursor is upside down, as is the Vox name (yellow writting)???

It's from the external F3 view.  The ingame camera hasn't been adjusted for an upright view, so the screenshot was rotated outside of the game.

Yeah but he did it with style :)  Kept the drop tank on despite bouncing off the ground.

Flying through hangers is funny as hell.  When I fly my P38 through a fighter hanger, I was all happy because I could get a bomber sized fighter through a hanger.:)  Like Slack says, we knights get so bored we do the craziest things.

The execution on that particular auger was superb. I do believe it was at least a 9.9 :D

See how the P38 really gets the advantage over the Spitfire? Ever notice how it usually wins its fights by getting up and behind the spit for the easy snap shots?

Uh, no pun intended.
