the ammo load is about the only big plus. great for fast snap shots, saws planes in half. roll rate is also good, as it is in any 190.

Tips? Keep your speed up, as in the 190A, only... Always give yourself an "out". Set a hard deck, and don't go below it, even if the enemy does. Then if need be (if bounced, engaged by fighters you know you can't beat, etc) dive for home using your hard deck to make sure you CAN dive for home.

Use the roll rate to your advantage against bombers, aim for 1 wing, hit that wing with everything you got, and watch it falling off as you safely rool out of the tail and side gunners line of fire, BUT as you roll out and down, watch out for the ball gunner. And whatever you do don't get in a turn fight with anything in it.

It's basically a Fw190A-8 with outboard cannons removed.

I believe the F8 series was an attempt at a better Jabo 190, It had extra armour around the cowling and cockpit. The 20mm where removed so they could install rocket racks. Id say the armour would be the main factor in the extra weight.

thanks for the replies so far half way through the month flying this plane its has been a real challenge although I now have 30 kills aginst 20 deaths most of these jaboing GV's and  bombers.

This plane is about hopeless in a dog fight with just about any plane in the set less it be another 190 or a 109.

It would be nice to have some more load out options like rockets.

anyway gonna see it through till the end of the month then pick another plane next month.

You sure have the right idea by picking a different plane to fly each month.

The more you learn about the strengths and weaknesses of every plane due to hands on experience the more you can exploit your opponents planes weaknesses.

The old saying is; "fly to the enemys planes weaknesses while flying your plane to its strengths".

F8 has the same ammo load (in caliber) as the 190d9.

some say it is more "armored" to withstand ack and stuff, but personally i lose more parts to ack in it than any other plane.

it is my own personal death trap.

JB42 and smoe other squaddies swear by it, hook up with them for more info.
I don't know what to put here yet.
