I usually get my ideas from Osprey's "Aircraft of the Aces" books.   There are a number of volumes about the P-47.   They contain a nice section of color plates.

WWII color photography is pretty rare.

Another thing you could do is Google search on WWII aviation art and P-47.   That should get you enough to get going!  GL!

Not sure what else you need beyond what is written below the profile.

They were based at Airfield A-64, St. Dizier, France, From August to December 1944 as part of the 9th AF.

The profile itself came out of Warren Bodie's book, 'Thunderbolt"

hmmmm...  I have a 1/48 jug done up as touch of texas - one of the default markings in the revell kit... damn paint sheet shows entirely white cowl - your pix has a blue one...

ah well, easy enough to mask and paint it over... the blue looks better. :)
