you have to map "Ground View" in your keyboard mapping, most map it to along with the other view modes.

then you have to enter "Ground view mode" by hitting your mapped key, and seeing the system message of the view mode change.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Yep, mostly when aiming at PTs but had it happen with tanks too.  I thought ground fiew was on when in a GV.  Is that not true?

OK, this is news to me.

Is there a detailed description of what Ground View is anywhere?

How does one get out of Ground View once you get into it?

Is Shift-F4 the default mapping of Ground View?

Thanks,
Llama

Yes shift F4 is default ground view, shift F1 is full view. shift f2 and shift F3 are also availabale but I never use them, so I cant recall what they are.

NO there is no "Default" you have to map it manually.

it is like full medium and short range view respectivly.

goto setup / controls / keyboard mapping  in there choose "view" and scroll to graound range view or something similar.

on the keyboard above choose shift and F4 then hit set key

then ehwn in a GV hit shift F4 in game and you will get a ssystem message if it is mapped right.

remember to go back to shift F2 or F1 when in a plane
I don't know what to put here yet.

What is the difference then between Full View and Ground view?  Doesn't full view include the stuff you see in ground view?

Full view lets you see the terrain farther, but the vehicles and trees are rendered at the ground detail range you set in your video options.

Ground view is basicly the Shift-F1 short view, with ground features rendered all the way out to the terrain drawing range.

OK, I guess this is off topic a bit, but still has do to with views.
Since AH2 came out I can no longer see rounds from fleet guns. I can`t see rounds while inflight from fleet to base, nor can I see rounds from guns to base or another vessel while in gun position. Same is true from a shore battery. Is there a cure for this?

nope, think they just threw the big projectile tracers out seeing as they were not so easy to animate realisticly.

i think they need to make a sound file for air disruption, so if they are coming your way, you will here and maybe even feel the  disturbace to the air.

although you would not have much chance to avoid them if you heard them and they were going to hit you ; o)_
