Nothing on the P47M stuff you asked about. I'll keep digging on that one.

Here are a couple more from Bodie's book on the Jug.

Bottom one is from the only Medal of Honor winning Jug driver in the MTO/ETO

Close ups of the 86th FS, 79th FG Squadron badge from the nose of the top one.  One image from the 79th FG history that shows it clearer and the other a blow up of the profile art on the top Jug.

Lower image is a blow up of Raymond Knight's artwork on "Oh Johnnie"

Bumped into this one by accident while looking for some other Jug stuff.  Is this the Bostwick P47M you mentioned?

Photo is credited to Bostwich, but might be a typo?

Interesting top view of 56th P47Ms.  Note that the leading edges of the main and tail wings were left natural metal.  Not sure why, but the photo leaves little question that they did it.

I didn't notice it in the color shot until I saw this one.  But look at the leading edge of the horizontal tail.  It's natural metal.

A variety of camo styles to choose from for the upper wings.

Sorry it's black and white.  Best I could do so far

Guppy I have a color plate of Bostwicks ride. The photo you show IS Bostwicks. I have that and another in B&W.

Looking at the aerial shot there's one plane that "fits" the side shots we have. Everything fits. What you think ?? It even has the smudge of lighter color on the top cowl visable in the profile shot you posted.

Can you do a scan with the comment below the picture stating 56th P47M's ??

Lol this is fun !!
