What the real problem in the CT is
« on: October 10, 2004, 07:12:25 PM »
Lack of attentive management on the part of the staffers.  This is not intended as a jab against anyone in particular but here it is.  Another 24 hour period with the arena porked and no one has been able to reset it.  I hate to say this because it seems to offend some people so I will carefully and delicately state that perhaps HTC should reconsider it's decision not to include more people in the position of CT staffers.

It is not the staffers fault, but ours.  In case you haven't noticed staffers never pork.  Maybe if we would do something about the players who pork this might get better.

This is exactly why i havnt flown PTO in forever.  YOu get these stupid 3rd country CV's and some dweeb sinks it not knowing it is bish/knit/ rook etc.  you can blame th CT staff for CV's, but you need ot put the blame for porking all on yourselves and  say "IT IS THE STAFFERS FAULT" when in reality it isn't.

Skull, unfortunately the CV's dont have blinking lights on them that say "I'm a Knit" or I'm a Rook" or I'm a Bish".

They should be tucked away in a corner somewhere, where they are not going to be seen and mistaken for an "active CV".

Not always easy to point blame, and in fact rather than look for scapegoats, lets just get the things done that we need done.

The CT staffers are as human as you and I. They will forget stuff occasionally and make mistakes, just like us.

Im going to put this lighty Skull because of a post before,
the arena porked is not there fault, but no one checking on it is.....
a few people that were elected by the players but rejected by reasons unknown and " not our biz" by HTC staff have been there and could have fixed it, HTC staff have said its not mand for CT staffers to be there, ok then step down if its to much of a time crunch  I like all the CT staff but if we ever want more than 20 people it needs to be run better, and before you start I dont have the time so I would never vol for it, maybe a few that did should reconsider...........

Gw im saying that storch is blaming the wrong people for this.  It will take awhile for CT staffers to fix an arena.  They work just like you.  That is how you pay for the game.  By working.  Then there is the real life stuff.  Emergancies, moves, etc.  As for HTC, remind me who owns the server?  Obviously we don't.  It is them, not us them, that own the server.  They decided who Staffs it.  You can paint this imaginary image in your mind that this is a democracy, but in reality it is a monpoly ran by HTC.  HT being the head honcho has final choice.

We are not all Super Bots that have all day to spend surfing BBS and fixing arena.

Storch is right on target.

Slash has been one, if not the best, staffers yet for trying to keep the CT in proper running order.

My overall score for CT Maintenance is a D-. If not for Slash, it would be an F.

I give Slash an A for his efforts.

Not really TK. That will change after we the new guys up to snuff. Hopefully the days of the arena being porked hours are close to an end. You do have my vote to become a staffer though:aok

Thanks Hawk, my first A:D

Simple solution.......... just make CT like a dogfight room (spit vs 109, ect, no bombers) since "furballerz" and CT staffers discourage the "majority" of the people from achieving the "real objective"

This "Simple solution" should reduce the needless CT staff to just 1 or 2...

errr like base caps and "milk runs"

Why not just  make prop fighter matches like 109 vs spits if the "minority" despise "real objectives" just because their furrball time is being "ruined"...

I'd would like to jump in here and give a quick explanation of my absence from the CT lately.  Since I feel that the community as a whole deserve it.

Basically I'm sutck in a computer rut.  A couple weeks ago now my computer started acting really strangely.  The details of which I've posted in the Tech Support forum.  I thought I had gotten things back to a minimum of stability running off my non-games HD so I can check the boards and such but there isn't any room for games on this old thing.    Aparently now I've been told that this drive that before now hadn't been giving me any problems has started acting up and the computer is randomly resetting itself so I'm back at square one.  I am effectively out of action till this problem is resloved one way or another.   That is why I haven't been around  I don't know when I'll be back (this problem is proving particularly stubborn)  but I do think that the community should be kept in the loop in this regard.
