Doom Chutes
« on: October 11, 2004, 06:19:17 PM »
Decided to check 'chute strength by flying into one.  My plane was wrecked, had to bail out, 'chute gets a kill on me -- and the 'chute continues to float down with no apparent damage.

I can understand a collapsed 'chute impeding a plane if it hangs on its wing.  I can understand a 'chute fouling the engine if hit head-on.

But I don't understand 'chute surviving impact with a plane and continuing to float down as if nothing happened.

just shoot it next time instead of flying through it

HEHEHE

really though, a chute hanging on a wing, with that hard drag being induced suddenly, and the weight of the "pilot" attached, i would think it would rip the wing clean off, not to mention fouling the prop severly no matter where you hit it.

just like flying into power lines or something.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Obviously you havent encountered the running man of destruction, where a bailed out pilot runs around a deacked field and wrecks taxiing planes by colliding with them.

I encountered one the other night. Or at least that's what I was told was happening. Seems at least 3 or 4 times when I spawned, some clown named xxTUGxx ran into my plane and killed me. Odd isn't it, how an unarmed man can destroy a 7 ton plane by running into it? What a freakin joke. Funny how it KILLS the pilot as well.

He is not UNARMED - he has what appears to be an 8 shot .45 caliber automatic pistol gripped firmly in his right hand.  Anybody who has studied WWII knows what an awsome aircraft killer the .45 was.  I say PERK THE .45!!!!!!!!!!
