sean penn is all of a sudden "outraged" that innacuracy in a movie might lead to inaccurate point of view. never mind that this is openly a comedy and f9/11 won awards from seans buddies as a "documentary". :) sean just guranteed some ticket sales. if i could contact him id offer him a tour of the same locales without a sadaam approved tour guide. but i wouldnt vouch for his safety some of the locals might not approve of his support of hussein. :)

Funny, I dont remember him protesting in any manner the large amount of inaccuracies or lies in moores crap movie 9/11.  Typical hypocritical demo/lib.

LOL
Not ment as a slam on your post but on Penn himself
Outside of his fan club who are probably at least as kooky as he is
One can probabaly count on one hand, and have a whole bunch of fingers left over the amount of people who really care about what outrages Penn.
or any other opinions he may have.

i think its an ivory tower deal. hes probably surrounded by "yes, sean!" types and ill bet he really believes everything he was told and shown when he toured iraq with clearance from hussein. if you could get him to mask up and spend a month or two near the serious parties in iraq and being talked to by the locals as if he were just another us rifle packer id bet hed change his views. ive met a couple of hollywood types they didnt seem stupid as a rule. and i have to admit i was on his side when he decked the camera guy following him all over the place. i wouldnt like that myself.

Not that he'd be incapable of composing such a memo, but there wouldn't happen to be any sources for that other than the fudge report would there?

Idiot---->

Well if it is  from Sean Penn I find it funny how he thinks his little Saddam approved chaperoned romp through Iraq the other year gave him any idea of what the people were living with under Saddam.  My guess is that Penn got the Micheal Moore happy kite flying children tour package...

inaccuracies? the movie is quite accurate for what it is...a comedy marrionette show that for all appearances is doing some spoofing on thunderbirds.

anyone remember "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"?

I was in high school when that movie came out and I thought old Penn had the whole world at his fingertips but the truth is the guy is so damned intense that his flame is already about shot.  I respect his opinion but regret his inability to smoke a bowl and just lighten the hell up for a wee few minutes....Mr. Hand!

Penn has some anger issues, that's for certain. However, he tends to avoid tangling with people who are capable of handling his aggression and frequent sucker punches.

I heard a story about a confrontation between drunken Penn and actor Brian Keith in 1988. The event took place at a party for the cast, crew and guests after production ended on the movie Colors. Penn was deriding a director, who wasn't present and just happened to be a friend of Keith. To appreciate the situation you must understand that since the late 1940s, Brian Keith was well known in Hollywood as one of the toughest characters ever to star in film. Known not only for his pre-disposition for brawling, he was also known for finishing the fights he got into. Even John Wayne recognized Keith's roughneck qualities when he commented that "Keith is the toughest SOB I know in this town."

This was related by actor Dennis Weaver: After getting stupid drunk at a hotel cocktail party, Keith had a disagreement with another actor. Keith didn't punch out his lights. No, instead he picked up the actor and threw him out of a 3rd floor window! Fortunately for both men, the actor landed in the hotel pool and suffered no serious injury.

With that in mind, the story fits his nature.

Listening to Penn for several minutes, Keith (67 years old at the time), walked over to Penn and suggested that he stop his ranting and behave himself.

Penn asked, "Why?"

Keith looked at him with that look that means pain and suffering are seconds away and replied, "Because if you don't, I'll rip your f--kin' head off, thats why."

Penn was stunned, and before he could say a word, co-star Robert Duval hustled Penn out of the room. That probably saved him considerable reconstructive surgery.

He's a buttering liberal left wing Hollywood tool that thinks he's too important.

I mean, come on, he went to Iraq to see if there was any suffering.  He didn't see any therefore there was none.

I'm sure it didn't occur to him that he might have been handled to not see the bad parts of town.

What a buttering tool.

Ya know... there are a lot of liberals in this country. Most of us don't have the luxury... er... I mean burden of having the media follow us around and put our opinions on television.

He's just a man.

Maybe it's just me, but I like being candid most of the time. I don't admire people like Penn. I pity them. We spout off some fairly caustic stuff around here... can you imagine if you were suddenly famous? Would you appreciate seeing some of this stuff all over Entertainment Tonight?

Think about it.
