Nonetheless I confirm that it is curious as some US people try to divide the world in two parts: US and non-US , and this  , IMO came out (maybe not intentionally) from  what you wrote too.

Not so significant, anyway, just peculiar:)

Ok let's turn this around. Why don't all we English speaking countries join together and pick on the rest? The USA, Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and bits of Canada. We've already forced the others to speak English because we won't learn any other damm language.  Now it's time for them to adopt our way of doing things or else :D

We practically do it already. If one of use gets involved in a war, all of us seem to join in one way or another.  If there's trouble in the world one of us is always poking our nose in.  We love trouble and if we're not causing it we're trying to stop it.  We are practically part of the same family, like any family we are always arguing but if anyone messes with us we send big Brother USA in to kick their asses.:aok  

Or we could just pick on the Welsh!

Thats not impossible..  just a different form of dictatorship, like it's always been.

Theres already some things people are ignoring in the USA, like the prison torturing, guantanamo bay, unlisted prisoners..
The sort of things which should be horrifying to any modern democratic country.
Is that really the kind of message some of the americans wants to send out to the world? "hey we're bringing the freedom and democracy to you!" and meanwhile some people 'dissapears' and some are imprisoned for who knows how long without charges.. and even tortured.
(and it doesn't count whether its happening 'legally' based on US laws or even some international laws, since they cannot lie to the world - they will see the USA responsible of it, like it is.. thats just as bad)

What kind of message does that send to rest of the world, who might've seen the USA as something impressive and a country which stands for the freedom and just?
and especially to the ones in the 'liberated' country... whos previous leader had already made people to dissapear etc.


Remember it also scares people who knows the history.
Dictatorial goverments didn't born in a day or two, it could've taken years, while slowly becoming worse and worse.

So when is the USA gov. going to stop it?
Maybe they will in the future have an increased need to make people dissapear and more people to be imprisoned without charges?
What guarantees they doesn't?
They already did it and do it.


Why should rest of the world shut up about it?
If you want it to stop here, then the americans themselves should refrain from posting pro-war threads, anti-terrorist stuff etc., which would lead the discussion to ... you guess what.

It's not that we would hate americans, some of us are worried of the current way the USA goverment handles the situation.



Fishu, WOWZERS!!  You really really missed my point :lol  So I'll explain it to you. My point was that its rediculous to  point fingers and lay blame on each others countries. (And there is ALOT of that that goes on here)  Hence the rediculous examples I gave.

Lastly, I suggest that we all try to look for the good things in this world instead of bashing each other all the time.

Otoh, I dont think anyone else got it either :(

I wrote it that way intentionally Stegor after reading a thread where the US was being bashed. Many times topics on this board appear to be the Americans vs everyone else.

Imho we should try to understand each others views and learn from each other. Maybe its just more *fun* for people to bash each other though :(

It gets worse. This is the kind of building the men in dresses lived in.  Round towers, like this one near where I live.  I don't know about you but it seems symbolic of something................hmm.

Yes DeSayls jump in on the fun subject of hillarious mass graves..  And of coursr you dont see anything wrong in it, it wasnt personally directed to you and your background. You damned salamander.

Really funny, masss graves, haha, hoepfully europe can have them again soon!!! Because it was so much fun for all the victims and the families the last time...

And yes, desayls, there are times when I offendedv people by the careless things I said, like about Spain, but at least I have the decncy to apologize and see the others persons view as to why the commrents were offensive.

All I see from GS here is more jokes...

Nitpicking is exactly what we SHOULDNT be doing GS :)  I know there werent any Vikings around in 1776. Each one of my examples in my original post were intentionally rediculous. Don't you think it would be rediculous to blame Norwegians and Swedes that are alive today for the atrocities commited by the Vikings? I do :)

Even trying to *blame* or *point the finger* at citizens of any given country for current actions of their gov'ts is rediculous imo.

Let's use my country as an example. Bush is campaigning for the office of Preidency and makes many promises to his consituents. Then 9-11 happens and he redirects his administration from his campaign promises to a War on Terrorism. Do I have any control on what he does once he is in office? (No) Do I have any say whatsoever in what he does once in office? (Again, no) Would it be rediculous to blame me for what he does? Absolutley.

The same thing can be applied to the French and their gov't, the Germans and their gov't etc.

The 2nd to last thing I said in my original post was that maybe we should find the good things in this world to talk about.

To many threads here concentrate only on the negative. Reminds me of the news broadcasts. :(
