moil You must have too much time on hands, was only posted as info to help those who might be on tight budget. Gf4 5200 gets around 40 to 60 fps in ah2  and its about all you need to play. But I guess some will complain about anything.

I have a GF4 5200 8x AGP 128MB and I run around 100 frames a second in AHII.  I have gotten up to 350, but that was looking straight up into a blue sky :).  At 20k feet or so, I usually run around 150 frames or so. (Preload textures, 1024x768 resolution, sliders all the way up on detail).  Though, this seems to be the only modern game that I can run that well.  Most other games I get frames in the 30-50 range.

Its a great card if all you plan to do is play AHII and older games.  Don't expect to play much of anything coming out now.  Call of Duty seems to be the latest game that I can run exceptionally well.

I wasn't "complaining" about anything, I just hate cheap, outdated, substandard hardware.
You can get something better for not too much more, people keep getting juuuuuuuuuuuuuust enough to get "in the game" then HTC does one or two updates {hopefully} with better sound and graphics. Now what?  Look for another vid card?

People can buy whatever they like, then keep coming to the BB to ask way this looks bad, poor frame rate, I can't see such & such. It's the same ol story time and time again. I just don't like to see some poor sap spend $$$ on hardware {because thier on a tight budget} then get let down or have to spend $$$ all over again.
I guess some will do anything

Try and consider your "not much more" may be someone elses back breaker at that particular moment.

When you have it its easy to say "Why spend $50 on this when for not much more you can get this for $100"

when you dont have it  an extra $50 is alot of money

What if the person did all they could do just to scrounge up the $50 and cant possibly afford the squeeze of another $10 let alone the other 50 right now

Im just using those figures as an example. but I think you see my point.

"Not much more" is all reletive to what you have in your wallet LOL

Better cards, worse cards....some cards seem to work well on some systems and lousy on others. With money being what it is many of todays stores do have a good return policy. I'm pretty sure CompUSA allows you to return cards. That being the case. it might not be a bad idea to "sample" a card to confirm it will do what you want it to do at the price you want to pay.

Considering the number of players we have it might not be a bad idea to post on the BBS, asking for the best tweak for a particular card your looking to purchase. Then install it and try all the tweaks. If it works the way you want it to thats great. If not bring it back and try another one.

One thing this forum does not lack.....help from its players.

:)
