« on: October 15, 2004, 01:15:01 PM »
Greetings All,

Just added an Excel File of Speed and Climb Rates. Also added the remaining fighters to the Speed and Climb Rate java applets.

Hope they're helpful!

Make sure you have Java enabled.  Also, under internet options/advanced, be sure you have Java enabled.

MS removed the MS Java virtual machine in one of the IE patches, as to conform with the monoploy lawsuit or something..

you have to DL and install your own JAVA plugin

see sun JAVA on web.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Thanks Hammer,
if I may ask where does this info come from for the EXCEL spreadsheet? how was these number gathered/calculated?

the comparison for the speed/climb java chart is for reference only correct? these graph overlays have not been updated to AH2 stats yet have they?

agains Thank You  :)

All the data on both the spreadsheet and the java comes from HiTech's performance charts. I pasted them into powerpoint, added grid lines, then distributed them evenly between each hash mark. I then looked at them with the Mk I eyeball. I took readings at every 5k (for the spreadsheet) or anyplace the line changed (for the java) and recorded it. I'd be willing to bet they are within 1 mph either way with HTC's charts.

In theory, those two performance parameters remained constant from AH1 to AH2 but I have not done any testing in AH2 yet. The planes I checked in AH1 were pretty much in line with the charts.

I have to tell you xHammer that my son who just turned 9 is able to read and undertstand the charts. Thanks to your site he learned how. I spent about 30 minutes going over them one day with him and he understands the speed and alt chart quite well. About 2 weeks ago he spent 1/2 his flying time looking over the charts. Every couple of days it is "Papa did you know the P-51B is faster than the P-51D on the deck"? Or "Papa did you know the P-38 is faster than the Me-110 at 20k"?

LOL He is the math wiz out of all my kids. :)

per an email from Pyro, most are still valid. There have been a couple of changes. When they are posted, I will update the charts.
