I liked flying the MiG-3 in Il-2 and Fighter Ace 3.6. It was my favorite ride.

In the hands of an experienced pilot, it was hell for others, unless you were low and slow (just like any other plane, really).

I never saw any real problems with it. We need this plane, for historical accuracy and added depth. It's a great ride, and it's one of those that will "keep the noobs away", like the Corsairs.

And the various paint jobs would make some really nice skins.

These are scanned from a bunch of magazines that I have laying around. A lot of them were my fathers who was in the airforce '54-72/73.

I think that I am going to start scanning alot of the articles on the ww2 planes and post them here for others to enjoy.

As you can tell by the date - this one is from 1971.

I have a gigantic book on the history of WWII (called the Complete Military History of World War II).

I'd scan some pages, but the few about aircraft really aren't in-depth. It's more of a "jack of all trades" book.

then go post above comments  in brady's "name this" threads...
geez...

FYI WOTAN,

I have been in contact with Key publishing about using articles from out of print magazines -31 year old. I am waiting on the official word, but in the meantime the fine people I corresponded with said there was no problem as long as it wasn't for profit.

When I recieve an "official" word as if it is really ok, or cease doing it....then I will take action one way or another.

I actually couldn't do anything with the Mig, so I don't really care if it comes here.
