A quick look at that photo and it is easy to see the cat is bluffing!

That's model 1911-A .45 caliber pistol. It is a single action trigger and the hammer is down. Also, the handgrip safety cannot be engaged by a kitten's paw alone making it impossible for the kitten to shoot itself, even if the hammer was cocked.
