what have you done to my m2
« on: October 16, 2004, 12:46:12 AM »
im sure that everyone has heard someone complaining about the new "weak" m2.  i cant seem to understand how a WW2 era plane with its thin aluminum skin can withstand several heavy concentrated blasts from .50cals.  ive lived with a .50cal literally for 13 years. ive been able to punch rounds into a M113APC at 1000m. the skin of a M113 is aluminum magnizinum alloy.... light but strong and several inches thick. now maybe i dont know how a .50 was back im WW2, but im sure that the gun that im firing is the same as it was back in the day.. can someone shed some light on this one for me?

I agree with you on the strength on the .50 caliber rounds.   I was flying a F6F and hosed a Spit down rather well.  I saw hit sprites all along the wings and engine and cockpit area.   I really put a concentrated pattern on bothe wings and the whole frontal area of the spit.    He should of been downed but kept flying like nothing happened.        Oh well,  I'll just fly AC's with 20MM cannons for now on.
