I don't think it should be legal for any media to disclose information of a district or area's winnings until  the polls are closed.

Has anyone else heard stories of people going to vote only to hear on the radio that candidate X has already won, yet the voting was still open?I heard that and it seemed pretty irresponsible.  Is this an urban myth or true?

you can vote ahead of time, rules are up to the state, but the votes will not be counted untill after the election.

i think Oregon has 100% absentee ballots, everyone mails in their ballots.

I voted on a touch screen machine. Was simple enough for even a Floridian, maybe. ;)

Yup, just got mine in the mail today.  I usually drop it off at the local elections office though.

That's funny. I just saw a news report where the voting computers went down in Florida for 30 minutes in the middle of early voting today. No details, but I'd be surprised if they didn't lose any data in the process. I'll stick with a paper ballot.

I'm kinda pissed right now.  I never got my absentee ballot from texas.  I've wrote the Texas Secretary of State several times to get a response as to why my ballot did not reach me.

Let's see, I've voted early in Tennessee and absentee in Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina. Only 3 more to go.

Last I heard it was 9 of 14 servers went down but no voting machines had problems. So all votes are safe.(ok we'll see about that later)
