Oh yeah, gotta love the Spit 1 - nothing is more fun than hanging on to some F6F drivers tail pecking away at his airframe for minutes until some LA7 driver zooms in and is awarded the kill with 3 20mm hits. Woo.

For added fun, try bomber intercepts with the 202 or BF109e4. Plink plink plink plink plink plink...

Well enough of that, I'm off to hunt Moose with my .22

Hmmm...

Your already outnumbered 1 on 1 in spit1 regardless of how good a stick you might be (except for another "period" plane of course). I went thru this way back when in TA with the spitV vs 109F4 arguement. I managed to beat the 109 since I was a better stick but sure learned that the 109 was a better plane.

As for spit1 vs "brand X" well a lucky pilot wound or radiator snapshot on an overshoot is only thing that gives you a chance...now obviously if its spit 1 to hurricane or spitV the .303's at convergence are almost as deadly...I've sawed wings off pretty easily with em....

Actually, you can push forward you just have to be careful not to hit negative G's.  Anything down to 0 is fine and will not cut out your fuel flow.  If you have to go inverted rolling or looping you have to make sure you keep it under a decent G load and don't camp out upside down.  Get your maneuver done and get back to level.  Flying the Spit I and the Hurri I for awhile teaches you to keep your moves tight.  Plus I've found that after you get used to your limits on forward motion of the stick, you can bounce the nose down to intentionally kill the engine for a second and use it to your advantage to slow down in a tight turn.  You definitely want your convergence set right in these planes.

When open my account again I bet I could kill your spit I with my PonyD. Whoever you killed in the DA was either way over confidant, and therefore very negligent, or just a bigger dweeb than me...possibly both.

I dont think Flyboy is bloody serious. He just like to challenge people to fight vs his Spit Mk1 and learn more.  "Can I defeat/survive this attack and turn the table?".  "AH! Yes! he take a bite! pingpingpingpingpingping... "

I challenge people to fight vs my Hurri Mk1 in h2h - FFA rooms. Just for fun. Ziljon deaths but so what. Its just a game.

BTW I know very well difference of MA/CT/SEA and h2h :)

Just choose a set of bombers with a nice rear gun. The 26s would be ideal for killing  spit mk1s, I think.

What people need to realize is that next to a spit mk1 or hurri mk1 planes like the zeke can't turn for crap. I managed myself in a 5 on 1 the other night in a spit mk1, even got 3 kills before ammo ran out. If your smart about what turns you make this thing can be impossible to saddle up on. People will dweeb out and go for HOs in no time.
