What's the best fighter these days?

With the ENY I think the P47D-11, F4U-1, 109F-4/G-2 and 190A-5 are the best. All of them have advantages and weakensses (none have a good bomb load), but on balance they can all be very lethal to any plane in the game and it would be hard to imagine a situation where any would be locked out from the ENY system. The F4F is one of the best base defence perk harvester's too.

Without ENY, the usual suspects, La7, 51-D, 190D-9, Spit 9.

I'm really surprised no one mentioned the Uber C Hog. With no ENY restrictions the plane is a world-beater.

With ENY restrictions my vote goes to... the IL2

Ok, I know you think I'm quite mad, but this plane literally chews up GVs with Guns alone and spits 'em out in a way no other plane can. It shrugs off .50 cal fire like no other single engined AC in the game, and can tear apart any other plane in the Head On (I've even surprised 110 G-2s in this respect as the 23mm is a balistic dream compared to the flaming grapefruit thrower). Add to that the fact that it outturns most of the fighters.

You essentially have a slower Hurri 2C with better survivability and the best Cannon pack in the game. Plus you can safely ditch em at speeds up to 250mph! Nothing is more fun than robbing an LA7 or Spit IX dweeb of his kill with a ditch in safe territory.
:D
 I luvs 'em.

The 190A5 usually has the highest K/D of the non-perked planes, and it has a good ENY.  It is easy to rack up kills in this if you are good at BnZ.   If serious jabo is part of the mix I would go with the P47D-25 or -40, both have pretty good ENY and are great for BnZ.   No furballing with the ghey hordes in any of these planes, though.

I don't know why but the 109 G6 is best prop plane for me this tour.  Arena wide the Tempest has the best K/D at  going by the link in my signature.

Otherwise, I am wierd, but I like the Hurricane II C

La7 is the best non-perked fighter. Fuel limitations puts it into one-way ride, or base defender thought.

The C Hog is a perk ride.  IMVHO it should not be perked but that is an old bone, no one chews on it anymore.

Hulluva fine ride though :)

Hum.. I thought it said without ENY limit.

Well...  it is easy enough, just move down the list till you find one that isn't ENY'd out.

P-51B is a good choice if you are looking to rack up some perks... 4 .50s is plenty enough firepower with good aim and short convergence.
