Not goodbye, but "See ya later"
« on: February 02, 2000, 05:19:00 PM »
I just wiped Aces High off my hard drive.
Not that I didn't enjoy it, I did. Problem is that I can't afford both AH & brand W.

AH is strickly a late war planeset, while I'm more of an early war fan.

No historical arena with historical plane matchups. Not even sure if one's planned for the near future.

A very limited planeset compared to Warbirds 50+

What I'll miss is the people I flew with.
BEE, you've been a brother to me, stay in touch. You bomber types, I won't name names, but keep up the good work.

Good hunting & clear skies to you all. Hope to see you all soon in WWII online.

Well I don't have an account with AH and I rarely spend over my $10.00 limit in WB these days. However, I think they are both very competative with eachother.

My reason for posting? Just to say that if the only reason you are leaving is because of the plane set, you can bet your bottom dollar that will change quickly. Very quickly.

If I could give any advice to AH, I would say that some historical terrains (a terrain editor is even better) so players can get more involved in "creating the community" and the addition of more planes that can fill out theatres and era's (instead of hodge podge)would unquestionable make it the best value between the two games.

Why I don't have an account? I'm tired of the MA concept. I don't want to sound negative since I had the best gaming experiences ever in these types of arena's set up by HT/Killer/Pyro and the gang and thank them for all the fun. It's just that I've done it for 4 years now and it's stale for me. What I enjoy now are scenarios and stuff. I'm sure AH will get there soon.

Ghosth, Maniac, take care guys, as those above me said, "You'll be back", the best part is, you'll have a learning curve when you return, so you'll be easy meat for us! ;p

To add to my comment on Ghost-

We met a few years ago in WB H2H (Deft's ladder). He and I kicked the idea of starting a squad around, and the 332nd Black Aces were born. Handy, Outlaw, Dhog, Mighty1, Torino... later additions like Logan, Gunthr, and many, many more. Ghost served first as XO, then CO, and was instrumental in all aspects of operations. He later coordinated the merging of the Aces with the Flying Mongrels, and these two groups exist in WB to this day.

As Funked said, he's a classy guy, and AH has been the richer for having guys like him around.

I'm in the postion of not being able to pay for this game at this time. And the only reason is that I am a Boeing employee that is soon to not have a job much longer. So I can only stay with WB because of the Squad I'm in. But once they walk me out, the cable goes to basic among other things. But when I can, I'll be coming back. I think that the gang that has put together this game are doing a great job. It's looking real good now. I really like the B-26. I'm looking forward to good things here in the future. I won't be wiping AH off my hard drive.I just hope the sounds will improve. You can get Meatwater to do your sounds. He did a great job on EAW. Cheers all.   Fireball

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!   sigh

Ghosth realy is top notch... I haven't played warbirds but we have flown alot together as wings. He told me everything about the nik and I can't say just how many times he saved my ass.

Ghosth, I know how much you love your zero so I'm expecting you back when that plane arrives...

Have all the fun in the world in WB and I see you soon here in AH.

Sure run away after you shot me down twice in one mission.....
Thats enough to shake any man I suppose...
Will I have to pay for WB to get revenge?

Kieren! I've been wondering where you disappeared to. I've missed your thoughtful and intelligent posts on AGW for quite a while now. And Ghosth, my friend, I know we'll still be flying a lot together in the HA over in Brand W. Hope to see you flying AH at some time in the future, though.

Well Ghostt I know you will be back cause you are the only one left from the old squad that hasn't killed me in AH.

I've been lucky enough to avoid you.
