What song gets inside of your head?
« on: October 22, 2004, 02:32:10 AM »
One of the best lines in pop music has to be...

"Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letterbox, they tumble blindly as the make their way across the universe."

Songs seems to hit on different levels, but every now and then. there seems to be a song that hits all four corners of your mind for whatever reason. I mean it just takes up residence there and changes your consiousness a little while playing and a little after.

Some songs that consistanlty do this to me no matter how many times I hear them are...

"The Lion sleeps tonight"
The piano solo at the end of "Layla'
The opening bars of "Whiter shade of pale"
Tom Petty's "Don't come around here no more"
"Blue Velvet"

I guess I should go to sleep now....

ooooh

and ELO's "Telephone line"

You mean, one that you just can't stop singing, even though you don't like it?

if im bombing, start singing in my head and type over open channel:-

"a bombing i will go, a bombing i will go, hey-ho-a-merry-o a bombing i will go."

and be singing it in my head for next hour or so.  i have no idea why.

drives me nuts, probably why i never carry bombs. lol.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

if you lose your one and only
there's always room here for the lonely
to watch your broken dreams
dance in and out of the beams
of a neon moon

gonna find me
a hole in the wall
gonna crawl inside and die
come a lady now
a mean ol' woman Lord
never told me goodbye
can't ya see? can't ya see?
what that woman
been doin' to me

save the strong
lose the weak
never turnin' the other cheek
trust nobody
don't be no fool
whatever happened to the golden rule
we got stranded
caught in the cossfire
