First, when did this become a multi-life event for the axis?  Check the logs, the Rogue Squadron and Sick Puppies guys all got shot down in Kates, then took off in Zekes.  One of them managed to shoot down one of our guys, but we got two out of three of them.  There are no A6M5 kills listed in the score, although they are in the logs.

By the way, how did they do that?  Flight should have been closed.  There is no mention in the design writeup about second rides, either.

I have trained all Admin CM’s to give a second life for those that fly Kates and sometimes other AC (depending on the event). I have done so several times in Squad Ops I have ran. Could be that 68KO did not put it in the write up. I am sure he will add it after he reads your post.

The Axis orders indicated the kate drivers would receive 2nd lives. The Allied orders did not.

As Setup CM, I was aware of the 2nd lives rule and opened fields for the group when the Axis CiC requested.

As daddog mentioned, it is common practice to allow Kate drivers to up a second aircraft, primarily since the plane has no offensive gunnery for the pilot.

Your not alone. I was thinking that too, ;) but it always helps to balance the sides by giving the IJN more pilots.  Since I did the orders for frame 2 (Axis side) I am really wonding how it will go.
