Or just throw your out-dated x45 in a dumpster and buy a x52.

Waiting for the X52.but expect the same problem as the X45.....cup on mine has been greased with a combination of candle wax shavings and vaseline.

I used Garage door opener grease on mine 4 months ago.   The "squeak" is still gone.

I use silicone grease weekly on mine. Pots can be cleaned by dipping them in alcohol, or even by sparaying electric cleaner at the root of their shaft. Silicone spray is good for the microswitches, use it regularly and you won't have microswitches going out.

Had the X45 forover 2 years,  (I thought it worked great) started giving me problems last week. So, when the wife akk wasnt looking, I ordered the CH products Combat stick, throttle and pedals (provantage.com) for $260.

WOW what a difference. I thought the Saitek was great, always laughed when people knocked it, but this CH stuff is smooth as silk. What a thrill at a merge to be able to keep the nose on the target with out the jumpiness I was used to in th X45.

The biggest difference (and the award goes to X45) is the set up. CH stuff wasnt easy to get running. And its been a long time since I set all my buttons and views so it was a little frustrating and time consuming. Still a work in progress.

I know it is a bit expensive, but sometimes you just have to say WTF, right?

So, looking forward to SMOOTHLY augering for your entertainment in the very near future.

I went to the Automotive store, bought a stick of Lithium Grease. Just spread a little on the base of the stick and no problems since. The grease doesnt gum up.
