This is a bittorrent link to an absorbing BBC documentry about the rise of the current islamic terrorists and the neo-conservative movement.

While you may not like the neo-cons it is made clear that the terrorists are the much more dangerous thinking party. I am not saying the programme endorses the neo-cons but it does make clear the failure of liberalism that caused thier rise.

P.S. I can't recommend this highly enough it is put together really well with lots of really good archive footage.

It does not define a neo-con as such but it traces their lineage.

In the 60's a raft of liberal legistation was passed which was followed by a period of increased voilence, unrest and drug taking which was attributed by "straussians" to these liberal laws. They believed increased emphasis the liberal emphasis on individual rights and not on group identity and morals was eroding the shared moral and social code which binds us together in a harmonious society. They trace these political thinkers and there students (like wolfowitz and rumsfeld) to thier current position in american politics. They also outline the sort of statements ripsnort made and explore the reasoning behind them.

Bittorrent is a new-ish p2p filesharing technology which uses something called swarming and (for me at least) gives much better download rates than something like edonkey.

You need a client. Install it then click on the link. you can download the torrent (or just open it from where it is) then you simply double click it to start the download. if you close it down you can simply resume by clicking on the torrent.
