and apparently so do many of my fellow Texans. Today was the 1st time I ever stood in line to vote. 20-30 people were ahead of me in line today. When I left the line was out the door. I expect a record number of ballots to be cast this year. Every state should offer this option.

The tally of my ballot? 10 Democrats and 1 Libertarian. I was going to vote for the Republican candidate for Tax Collector, but changed my mind at the last minute. I abstained from voting in 3 judicial races because they were unopposed Republicans.

I've been trying to early vote for the last few days in Broward County FL. Lines are 3 hours long. Shook hands with Al Gore. Mom is mad. I'm going to try at 0630 hrs tomorrow, but I'm taking a soccer chair and a book.

So with early voting Election Day isn't really the day to vote just the last day to vote.

Nash I live near Chico, Texas. A small town between Ft. Worth and Wichita Falls. It don't get much more country than this. Cows, horses, pigs....the whole 9 yards.

What is the idea behind early voting? Like why do it? Who is pushing it?

It gives you the opportunity to vote at your convenience. It starts 2 weeks before the election.

Last Saturday they had a polling place set up at WalMart and over 700 votes were cast. No one particular group is pushing it here. It is a truly bipartisan thing.

Interesting, I do not think my county or maybe Cali did it. I live right next door to the polling place.

If people are registering in record numbers to vote. And in Florida we've seen, read about the big ques. Plus a report that they are short some 500,000 volunters.

Are there concerns on the day that people won't vote due to long ques? Also I was suprised that it isn't mandatory to vote.

I bet the lawyers are queing up too for all the law suits and cases once voting finishes.

I almost didn't vote for Rick Santorum and abstain from that category, but I viewed it as the lesser of two evils.

A.) Have Rick Santorum in office

B.) Have a democrat controlled Senate.

The RNC strategy is to hassle every voter over their eligability to vote, causing lines to come to a standstill and folks to just leave. (if you wanna hassle me about that, wait until Tuesday eve or Wednesday morning pls). In a nutshell, yeah, there are concerns.
