As a left leaning gun owner, I would dissagree Rip. I'm not rich nor famous and I own quite a few handguns as well as long guns. Nobody has challenged my ownership of either.

Making blanket smears like this shows the influence that freeperville has on your reasoning....IMO.

Rosie is the best example I can think of.

"I don't care if you think it's your right. I say: Sorry, it's 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison."

--Rosie O'Donnell

Then it was discovered her personal bodyguards, and the bodyguard who watches over her kid at school, are armed.

But Moore's connection to the NRA is bizarre; he told Tim Russert that he joined the group so that he could be elected its president and make it support gun control. This is aggrandized self-delusion, rather like Barbra Streisand announcing that she was becoming Catholic so that she could be elected Pope and make the Church support polygamy.

He also said he had joined when he was 12.  Kinda makes you look like you don't know a joke when you see one huh?

mt... he was probly smarter at age twelve.   You do know that the NRA sells lifetime memberships right?   In the movie bowling he tells Heston that he is a lifetime member.    If he was a lifetime member at 12 then my guess is someone else paid his way (bout 300 bucks) soo... he probly has a relative that is into firearms freedoms (or was).

Why would Michael Moore need bodyguards, let alone gun-toting ones?  Oh, right -- anything to seem important.  Probably has his perception insured by Lloyds of London.
