SHII rocks as a sub sim. Destroyer Command is fun also.
Vicker's MOD really made it ROCK! Oil slicks, smoke, fire, brass
ejection, just to name a few.
HFRO I played on my Commodore 64 :D   Way kewl for it's time.

If I remember correctly Oleg fell into this one. He bought the rights to Silent Hunter II. It was less than expected when released but it kept selling....and selling. It's STILL selling.

The community introduced lots of mods. The wolfpack league was formed and it just kept going.

On my old machine I had SHII with all the mods. 1024 conversion mod. Sound mod with all 'Das Boot' sounds in German that ROCKED. Weather mods, campaign additions etc.

Not fair to compare a "one person" boxed game with a Dev team numbering twenty five on Eastern European salaries to an online flightsim.

Be nice to decipher the water effects tho ;)

If your into subs, here's the sub central place to go for latest info on games. It's where I got all the mods for SHII

There is a very cool, sub game already out there. Enigma -rising tide. All voice commands which suprisingly works very well.

I haven't played SHII in awhile, yet when Destroyer Command
came out it added multi-player to SHII. 8 people max tho, and
still excellent graphics!!
