November 1, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - Osama bin Laden warned in his October Surprise video that he will be closely monitoring the state-by-state election returns in tomorrow's presidential race — and will spare any state that votes against President Bush from being attacked, according to a new analysis of his statement.
The respected Middle East Media Research Institute, which monitors and translates Arabic media and Internet sites, said initial translations of a key portion of bin Laden's video rant to the American people Friday night missed an ostentatious bid by the Saudi-born terror master to divide American voters and tilt the election towards Democratic challenger John Kerry.

MEMRI said radical Islamist commentators monitored over the Internet this past weekend also interpreted the key passage of bin Laden's diatribe to mean that any U.S. state that votes to elect Bush on Tuesday will be considered an "enemy" and any state that votes for Kerry has "chosen to make peace with us."

The statement in question is when bin Laden said on the tape: "Your security is up to you, and any state that does not toy with our security automatically guarantees its own security."

That sentence followed a lengthy passage in the video in which bin Laden launches personal attacks on the president.

Yigal Carmon, president of MEMRI, said bin Laden used the Arabic term "ay-wilaya" to refer to a "state" in that sentence.

That term "specifically refers to an American state, like Tennessee," Carmon said, adding that if bin Laden were referring to a "country" he would have used the Arabic word "dawla."

MEMRI also translated an analysis of bin Laden's statement from the Islamist Web site al-Qal'a, well known for posting al-Qaeda messages, which agreed that bin Laden's use of the word "ay-wilaya" was meant as a "warning to every U.S state separately."

"It means that any U.S. state that will choose to vote for the white thug Bush as president, it means that it chose to fight us and we will consider it an enemy to us, and any state that will vote against Bush, it means that it chose to make peace with us and we will not characterize it as an enemy," the Web site said, according to MEMRI's translation.

Yup...better make the country safe again. Get Bush out and put Kerry in...sip sherry and smoke some cigars with our European allies so that we can all prosper in a better world.

The sad thing is that there are some weak willed among us that will change their vote just based on that statement.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety

That whole article stinks like yesterdays diapers. Oh, yeah, he is trapped in some cave in the afghan mountains monitoring the election. What, does he have his own batcave? Too funny

Hell I hope if kerry is voted in, that he will make catching and killing Osama  a larger priority then bush did.  I would say that alot of people i know will not be voting for Bush becasue  osama is still around to make this dumb bellybutton videos

BINGO!!!!!!   Bush had his chance to catch him and fked it up.  Why in gods name would they give the Pakistani and Afgan warlords the responsibility of patrolling the border between Afganistan and Pakistan.  One of those guys got a nice payout and over the border UBL went.  Nice Job Bush:aok :rolleyes:

actually if this interpetation of OBL's words was read over every air wave to the US people, I would hope they would vote for Bush, to show OBL that there is no way in hell we are siding to make peace with him or his beliefs or his people.

btw General Franks gave a statement saying that Kerry's claim of giving the duty of capturing OBL to the Pakistani and Afgan warlords, is all hogwash, he was there he knows.... people need to get a reality check and quit believing everything the MEDIA tells them..........

Dude I remember it at the time.  I was pissed off then when I heard it.  It's what was being reported at the time, cause what happend.

Right, and IF Kerry wins, there will be NO MORE attacks, Al-Queda will disband and start charity work.

Get real people, they are out to destroy us and our way of life.

If you vote against Bush ONLY on this threat, they have won.

We will get hit again, no matter who wins elections.

President Bush and Senator John Kerry have very different views of the war on terrorism, and those differences ought to be debated in this presidential campaign. But the debate should focus on facts, not distortions of history.

On more than one occasion, Senator Kerry has referred to the fight at Tora Bora in Afghanistan during late 2001 as a missed opportunity for America. He claims that our forces had Osama bin Laden cornered and allowed him to escape. How did it happen? According to Mr. Kerry, we "outsourced" the job to Afghan warlords. As commander of the allied forces in the Middle East, I was responsible for the operation at Tora Bora, and I can tell you that the senator's understanding of events doesn't square with reality.

Second, we did not "outsource" military action. We did rely heavily on Afghans because they knew Tora Bora, a mountainous, geographically difficult region on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is where Afghan mujahedeen holed up for years, keeping alive their resistance to the Soviet Union. Killing and capturing Taliban and Qaeda fighters was best done by the Afghan fighters who already knew the caves and tunnels.

Third, the Afghans weren't left to do the job alone. Special forces from the United States and several other countries were there, providing tactical leadership and calling in air strikes. Pakistani troops also provided significant help - as many as 100,000 sealed the border and rounded up hundreds of Qaeda and Taliban fighters.

Contrary to Senator Kerry, President Bush never "took his eye off the ball" when it came to Osama bin Laden. The war on terrorism has a global focus.

The war against terrorism is the right war at the right time for the right reasons. And Iraq is one of the places that war must be fought and won. George W. Bush has his eye on that ball and Senator John Kerry does not.

Mars, I was not  trying to say vote Bush Not Kerry or anything of the like, sorry if it came off like that.

I maybe voting for Bush, but I do not believe everything I see or hear........ also I am not trying to sway anyone in any direction. We all have choices.......

I  do not beleive all the hipe the media puts out,  regardless if it is for Bush or Kerry or anyone else.........
