2.01 texture tearing
« on: November 01, 2004, 02:21:18 PM »
Attached are two screens of what I mean (scaled down for the sake of bandwidth). Note in the upper right corners how you can see the corner of a rectangular patch that isn't getting painted with the proper texture. This happens going left or right. Screens are from the Mindanao terrain. Doesn't appear to affect performance any, but it's very distracting when you get 3 or 4 of these little blue corners flashing along the screen edges.

Display is a GeForce4 Ti 4200 ... I'm running DX 8.1.

Turning off "Horizon" on Video Settings prevents this problem. Just goofing around it looks like there's some interplay between terrain and the view angle ... I was doing a fwd-up view in a 47 heading towards some mountains and all the lower patches of the view were without the horizon haze.

I had the same problem in the patch 11 download.  Only mine wasnt just limited to the sides like that, I had it from my rear view as well and it was much worse there.

I believe that game requires Directx 9.0b or higher.  Why U running 8.1?  Could be your problem.

Yeah ... I'm betting it is ... also I don't see animated water, just the static texture. Guess I'll try updating and see if that fixes things ... but if my system crashes it's your fault. :p

Same here. ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, one set back of latest drivers.

Darker blue triangles when turning in the corners, sometimes several.

Edit: Tried the newest drivers and Direct X 9c. No change. Tried a host of different video settings, same thing. Had perfect graphics in patch 10.

I also have random flickers across the screen too. Reported those in separate post.

Maybe it has to do with the driver's table fog settings in windows?

Dunno ... wasn't happening in 2.00.10, though.
