I did a quick check offline, but didn't notice any changes other than a 'calibration speed' display.

I dropped a b-24's eggs offline. Noticed no difference in calibration.

The only thing that you have to do to calibrate is hold a button down for a bit. No field alt to set, no cross-hair tracking. Just 30 secs out from drop - calibrate.

we're back to laser guided bombs again.

That might explain why you always missed the target before.

They are hardly laser guided as they still have all the drift of the old bombs,

So youre saying all I need to do is hold Y down in calibration mode and my bombs will definately hit?

I miss the old way already.... But I got my B-24 so Im happy.

Yep united - that's all you got to do - provided speed and alt are same at drop as calibration.

I just tried it. You do have to hold the crosshairs on a point and you do have to set target alt. Despite the release notes, nothing seems to have actually changed.

Edit: I was in the TA, you'd think they would change it there at the same time as MA for those who wanted to practice!

Dudes. It is the same old way offline.
It is the new way online. At least before the patch it was this way.
edit. Just re-checked. It is the OLD way offline. It is changed online. The instructions in offline mode read the same way the did before the new version.

rgr mugz.. the auto calibration is an arena setting now and you can set it offline.

Under the Auto Calibration setting all you need to do is hold a constant alt and speed, then hold the 'y' key for 2+ seconds.

No more holding a spot with your joystick or clicking on clipboard to set target alt.

I don't understand why calibration is being dumbed down so much. Anyone have a reasonable theory?

heh, calibrating is EASY.........and you also can not be killed ( killshooter) by bombs or rockets.........so much for dive bombing big buffs being axed........

I did try to put the B24 into a dive to see how fast it got up to, using combat Trim turned on it reached 350 mph and then started nosing p, while I was pushing all the way forward on the stick. when it slowed to 300 it started to nose back down , hit 350 it began to raise nose, over again........

so maybe there is some hope :-)

Yep...because anyone with stick spikes can't calibrate the bombsight.
