B24 ordnance load
« on: November 02, 2004, 03:39:57 PM »
The B17 has 6 1000s and 12 500s.
The B26 has 4 1000s and 8 500s.
Our B24 has 8 1000s and 12 500s.

Should the B24 have 16 500s?  I'm not sure this is important with the new version of the bomb sight, but with the previous version, 500s worked much better than 1000s in obtaining a workable spread for taking down hangars.

You no longer have to click on the target to set the target altitude and you no longer have to hold the crosshairs on a terrain feature.

To calibrate just get to the altitude you want, the heading you want and let the speed stabilize.  Then just hold the calibration key for a number of seconds and voila, you're done.

cough cough....b24 carries 6 2000lbers in the belly. Take one up and check it out. Error already reported under Bugs....says 4 in hanger but roll one and get 6.

I found I had to do exaclty the same as previosly but the calibration marking  is 2 seconds instead of 15 seconds. I still had to click the target for alt.  It also reports the alt and speed you calibrated at so you can return to those calibration paramaters.

I just followed the instructions presented during calibration...it worked I have over 1000% accuracy vs a large strat target with 2000 lb bombs..dont know how it will work for more precision targets.

You dont have to calibrate for target alt.
