Kerry was running on mostly a ProWar ticket when all of a sudden he realized he wouldnt win the Iowa Caucous if he didn't take a stance against Iraq. THAT'S WHAT KILLED HIM. 75% of his base is against the war in some why or another and he tried to play both sides. Otherwise Dean would have surley won the ticket (yyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgg ggggghhhhhhhh)
Just my observation though!
Y'know, I remember that I was talking with a friend when Kerry announced Edwards as his running mate. My friend and I both said at almost the same instant: "Well, this election's over."
Edwards didn't deliver any Southern states. Edwards brought no value to the ticket whatsoever and allowed Cheney to stay in the shadows pretty much unscathed (i.e. if anyone had paid attention to Edwards they would have had to look at Cheney's activities to compare).
I'd be real interested to know how and why Kerry really picked Edwards.
