Had electronic voting machines at my polling place.

I asked for a paper ballot, and they said they do not offer them.

What kind of **** is this? Seriously, I'd rather have my ballot misteriously lost than potentially having my vote changed or... entered wrong.

It was no more secure than when I used the paper ballot either. "What do I do with this little memory card?" One of the polling volunteers takes it and places it on the same table where they are handing out the blank memory cards...

Ah, yes... obviously much more fool proof and better to track than paper ballots.

Before you begin, I did not vote for Kerry.

I'm with you on electronic voting.  Get rid of it.  There should be a paper ballot which can be re-counted if necessary.  Voting without a physical ballot is an invitation to massive fraud.

I didn't vote for Kerry either.

I think there should be a combination of the two. I have no problem with electronic voting as its probably easier to do. Just bush the button next to your choice.
But.. that machine should also generate two printed receipts of sorts.
One going back to the voter so he could see who he voted for on paper, and one for the state in case of the need for a manual recount

BTW - by "entered wrong" I don't mean, I hit the wrong key... I mean, I put a check mark next to Candidate A and the machine puts it into the memory card as Candidate B either through an error or other.

If you voted for Bush they will probly just let it slide... If you voted for kerrie then probly at least a dozen democrat lawyers can make you a tear stained poster boy on msnbc if you are convincing enough... Are you a black person maybe?

Lazs2 so what if the guy is black? His opinion is his opinion. Bit worried at what you are trying to say here.

Badnarik.

I got the least amount of acid reflux when I read about his platform compared to the other candidates.

SOunds to me like he was saying that if he is black, the democrates can make a bigger deal of it.  It's sarcastic, but what's the big deal?
