An American Werewolf in London.

The Silence of the Lambs.

maybe The Ring, which I found pretty effective for a PG-13 movie.

Cat's Eyes (when I was a kid) - it had the ugliest ****in troll in it EVAR.

Poltergeist
Aracnaphobia

That's just based on the ability for horror movies to stick with me.  If I see the ocean, I think "sharks" simply because of the movie jaws.  If I see static on a TV, I think of "poltergeist" (which was voted to have the scariest villain ever).  If I see a house spider, I automatically decide if its similar to the ones I saw in aracnaphobia.  Hollywood has fallen into the trap of scary meaning "startling".  You don't realize just how scary a movie is until 10-20 years later.
