Also $Mft getting screwed on exit of AH on drive i keep AH on.
I don't like my master file tables being screwed with
Freezes would start after approx 10 to 15 mins of playing AH.
Time it takes a 75% loaded f4U-1 to get to 14k would be about right.
At first i thought it was altitude related but still happens if i fight low.
Then i noticed it was still happening when i returned to XP desktop, then if it had been freezing in AH i noticed the $Mft warning come up sometimes on the exit of AH others when i shut down XP after AH had been freezing.
Warning says something like write back cache failed to save $Mft and to be sure to save it elsewhere, which of course you cant if XP is in the process of closing.
OK I have been playing fine until this started approx 3 days ago.
Changes my end to AH.
Previously i had been playing 1280 res using vidmem on an X800 XT, i decided to change to system memory and try it, textures were at 1024.
Problems above started, tried altering back, still same problems.
Deleted AH Cache folder and rebuilt it with 512 textures and vidmem option only, still at 1280 res and so far no further problems.
Also note this Mft problem ONLY happens after AH has been freezing in game. No other program or use of my computer causes this, and equally i have never suffered it before all the years i have played ah.
I also appreciate its not impossible that it in fact is nothing to do with AH, although currently it seems unlikely.
If anything else develops i shall keep you informed.
