Alierons Ripping Off F4U in power dive
« on: November 08, 2004, 05:13:46 PM »
Greetings!

I dont know if this has been reported yet of if it's even a bug.

I was flying and F4U-1D Corsair and was chasing a spitty in a dive and in full control. As I made my dive less shallow (at about 350mph), my alierons came off.

Thanks.

U pulling up to hard.  I did 525mph dive with the F4U-1C with 1 drop tank and pulled out with no damage.  Don't pull back hard enough that u black out is the trick.  When U black out u are hitting the stress points of the plane.  Thats what I use as a gage and so far I haven't ripped any wings of any plane at any speed.

Thanks for the reply, but pulling too hard was not the case. Not blackout, no stress.  I fly the Corsair exclusively and been flying for many years.  The pull-out was very controlled and smooth. No jerking, no sudden movement.  VERY Slow and controlled.  And just about when I was starting to level, the alierons came off.

The new release notes for patch 2.0.2 say there was a problem with structural stress.  Maybe this is the fix.
