hey nim, what kind of phone is it?

lots of the phone manufacturers make software for your phone that installs on a pc...some use the infrared port on the phone and a laptop for instance, or if your phone has some sort of data cable that plugs into your computer..... you get the idea.

or, you can try emailing it as an attahemetnt to your phone if you have GSM service.

i know for att its 5553338888@mobile.att.net

do you have bluetooth on your phone? if yes you can get a Bluetooth USB Adapter. that connects your phone to computer without wires.

if not you may need a cable to transfer it.

Hiyas Guys,

Thanks for all the input. Its a Toshiba VM 4050 phone (SprintPCS). I could try emailing it as an attachment, thats a good idea. I'll do that and post with results. I think I have a data cable, but dont think I have wireless.

Email me the file, I'll upload it to my WML site.  This'll be the first ring tone I've had up there, so I don't know if it'll work, but I'll give it a try.

If you know HTML, it's pretty similar and easy to do.  You just have to be perfect with your coding, since cell phones are stupid and their browsers aren't equipped to deal with minor errors (any error will basically end up with the page not being viewable).  I used this site to get my learn on: http://www.waptutor.org.uk/index.html

There's nothing too special about publishing from what I can tell.  I just uploaded mine to my normal web host.  You can download my page by clicking on the link above (the whole site is just one WML page), and look at the source.

*** U Swulfe! ;)

I figured out a way, SOB. But I'll send you the ringtone anyway to see if it will work. One of the websites I am a member to allows you to upload ringtones in your personal folder type thing for only your access. Then from there I can pick it from my phone.

Thanks a ton for all teh help guys - Swulfe, how is your boyfriend doing? Last time we spoke he was disappointed that you werent willing to go to Canada to get married. I know its not recognized in the US, but its better than nothing dont you think?

You should know Nim, you ran off with him.

So, what ringtone are you trying to get? "It's raining men"?
