Bucks are too tough, I prefer some nice tender fawn meat.

Nice buck!
The biggest you see around here run about 175 dressed out.

Nice Buck, the average around here dress out at less than 100, but they got big old racks.

Nice. But since I didn't get drawn for anything this year, I have to hate you.
So sorry.

smoke it on a smoker, then make 1/3 pot of BBQ sauce.
slice thin or thick slices, crumble up in pot. stir and slowly simmer for couple hours, add water if needed, and let it get to a nice thick sauce. put it on a bun, pop open a beer and enjoy.
I like the firehouse BBQ sauce on
http://www.allrecipes.com
. though I slightly modify the recipe.
I add more stuff like black pepper, lemon pepper, paprika, molasses, minced onions, ground mustard, and very little garlic
.
if you add more stuff like I do, start with small amounts then add more if needed. use to much, you stuck with it or you throw it out.
edit; if ya make sauce, let it simmer awhile to get flavors to blend.just adding then tasting right then doesn't give a true taste of what it will be in the end.
did all this, smoker time 8 hours, sauce making time 2 hours, simmer all together in pot 3 hours. end result mmm no words to describe it. better than the best I ever eaten before.
oh nice Buck there Medicboy, plenty good eating.

What was the deer packing? Was it a clear cut case of self defense?
I have a friend who hasnt had any luck HUNTING deer these past few years, but he's managed to hit one with his new truck. I told him to sell his guns, just invest the money to lower his deductible!

Great buck. The biggest ones around here get to maybe 160 pounds, but they have a lot of points.
I have a picture somewhere around here of one that has at least 14 points.

That is a huge Buck Medic, wtg.
I only Bowhunt in the Midwest, and usually goof on guys that use rifles, but that is a monster.
My Brothers co-worker shot this nice one, this weekend, a good Iowa Bow Kill.

TY, CC.
They hang and clean them right out, and pressure CAN most of the meat straight away, except the back straps.
I will be flying into ORD Friday, farting venison come Monday staying at my brothers house for 3 days. Can't wait.
