howdy all , ive got my 3400+ and chaintech vnf-250 online , any of u guys running 64's notice high temps on the chip?.. Mine is running at 50C at idle and 57C at full load . Seems high , i have a cbox that came with the board that displays temps on a digital display. It runs everything fine and goes throught 3dmk05 without any artifacts . thx 38

No way it should be running that hot at idle.

What heatsink/fan do you have on the CPU?

Also, its important the make sure that you have good airflow throughout the whole case.

well after some looking i have found that this board has a known issue with the temp probe location .. im running a stock amd HS and fan . i have 6 80mm case fans so air flow is good . This chaintech znf-250 is a nice board with lots of goodies , but after the problems ive had with the bios bugs it has , i wouldnt recomend it ~~thx all 38~~

i've got the 3200+ and i rarely see my temps get up to even 100 deg. did you peel the plastic film off the surface of the heatsink??

it's an easy mistake to make.

there is....alot of Nforce3 boards report the newcastle core temps way to high

yeah thats the issue , i have flashed the bios and the temps went way down but i lost the 200 fsb bus for my memory , so i flashed back... seems chaintech bios upgrades fix one thing then break another . owell 38
