Forum banning vs in-game banning
« on: November 10, 2004, 04:44:27 PM »
So umm, imagine you posted a sorta nudie pic in an OT forum on your favourite games BBS. Include in this hypothetical situation that you've been a subscriber to said hypothetical game since day 1.

Would you expect:
a) a warning
b) to be banned for 24 hours in the forums
c) to be banned for a week in the forums
d) to be banned for a month in the forums
e) to be banned for a month in the forums AND in game

Note: this is not AH, or AH2, or anything to do with our beloved Skuzzy (in fact this makes Skuzzy... hypothetically of course... look like an angel).

You should be shot, then given a medal (so long as you made the picture available to other poor slobs).

So email it to me! :D

If you were hypothetically someone who had repeatedly been warned about posting pictures of his aunt..I would expect BBS banning till you got the hint. Nothing to do with the game.

It was said hypothetical persons first offense.

Additionally another hypothetical squad mate who expresses dissatisfaction at a certain games "command structure" was recently accussed of trying to hack forums and also banned for 30 days in game... hypothetically.

Sucks aye?

Only if the forum you're thinking of is run by a company hypothetically beginng with C and hypothetically ending with S.

But seriously one of my squaddies in that other game got banned for 30 days...IN GAME.... for posting a nudie in their OT forum. And... another squaddie who beats up the GHC guys a lot on the forums got banned for 30 days because someone "accused" him of hacking the BBS.

I think the practical advise would be is if a game is that important to you, don't ruffle feathers of those running it. You're friend should take it as a very cheap lesson.
