A vet myself, NWN BTC First Class...

(New Westminster Neighbourhood, Backyard Tree Climber First Class.)

Shot many an unsuspecting punk with a carved twig and the words "Bang! Your dead!"

A hearty to the men and women who have done and continue to do the real thing.

Yup, national holiday tomorrow.

Except for me... er, and thousands of people, who get scoffed at if they actually take the day off. Work to do, things to get done, no time for that. Yegads.

Ray Cole '39-45,

He spent the majority of those years as a rear gunner in a Lancaster. The museum's staff was very gracious to him, as he ( with me tagging along :p ) was allowed to wonder all thru the entire Lanny for hours. Great stories, life up there was hell and all.

I racked off a lot of pics, sent him a CD.

Yep Gunslinger, although we refer to it as "Remembrance Day"

11th month, 11th day, 11th hour.

Isn't that when the guns went silent in 1918?

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

(S) all those who served.....

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

to all who served. A special and a prayer for those who gave all so that we can be free. Finally a very special to those serving in harms way today.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
