Ground collision bug
« on: November 10, 2004, 10:30:28 PM »
I witnessed 2 planes hitting the ground during a dogfight, only to loose both wings and have their fuselage slide to a halt...

While trying to stretch a dead stick final.. I hit a row of trees only to be caught and dropped on the ground with only  a bent prop.

:D  Maybe there is more realism built into the game than we know.
When I was a kid, the old crusty spray pilot that was giving me lessons kept repeating one thing to remember several times. He said if engine power was lost in a wooded area and there was no opening to attempt landing, then pick out 2 "soft looking" trees that were spaced to where you could glide the plane between them to rip off the wings and let the fuselage set down. He said he had done this 3 times in his life and it worked like a charm. He later told me the part he had left out.........On the last attempt it broke his back. :D
