Howdy

Haven't flown for a long time and still waiting for my internet connection....

So... How good are the B24 and Ki84?  How is the T34 compared to other GVs?

Might finally get up for a flight or two in December/January... (where's SAWsage? ;))

The Lib bombs the crud outa things.

The Frank is a d'mned good plane (just not as d'mned good as some would like).

Kill the bad guy with your first shot in the T-34 because you can down a bottle of vodka between shots.

Hi Nexx, Saint AW :)

Arlo summed it up pretty well. So expanding on his comments and adding a few of my own:

Ki84 is great but you'll eat it for lunch in your Typh. It rolls well at medium speeds, not that bad a diver I think 500+ mph and things start falling off and the controls start to get heavy around 350mph. It climbs very well, stalls are gentle, can get the nose up and keep it up for guns solution at very low speeds.

B24 is great, very strong, some find it hard to bring down. Probably just need to figure out the weak spots. Bomb loadout is great.

T34 is a mixed bag, it's fast but no pintle gun as you probably know and it reloads slowly, seems like an eternity in a direct battle. Still a fun tank if you find a good hiding spot or have friendly tanks with you(and you're also well hidden coz they'll probably still try to get you first).

Thanks for the replies... the B24 surely sounds interesting!  Haven't flown for so long though so will struggle big time upon my return!

With the B24's, It seems to me you need to aim for the inner engines as they seem to catch fire real easy. Then the 24 go's poof.
I chased down a B24 with my flight of B26's and sprayed him from tip to tip and used up all of my ammo in the front guns, just sparkle sparkle. He didn't die till I hit him real good under his wing with my top gun.:D
From the ashes of the old we rise to fly again. Behold The Phoenix Wing!

Doesn't matter how good they are Nexx--just matters if you come back to the game

Hi nexx :)

B24 is quite fun, not been impressed with ki84 or T34 yet though.

Hopefully you will come back around X-mas... and Busher will be snowed in so he will have to dust off his computer... great times! :D

Yeah, well, seeing I have leave from 21 Dec and not back to work until 10 Jan (free holiday) I'll be back in the UK between 22 - 30 Dec.  That means no computer back in England!!  Oh well!

Well, I haven't been here long but first impressions are that it's simply fantastic!  It's clean, quiet, tidy, safe and people seem to respect each other more.  Public transport is first rate, especially compared to the UK.  Of course the beer is good and girls are gorgeous.... only negative thing is that all the food seem to consist of pork! :)

I see Kaz hasn't figured out the Ki-84 yet. Since the patch, the roll rate rivals the 190, especially between 300 and 350 mph. sustained climb is excellent, but the angle of climb and rediculously low speeds it can maintain in the vertical are unmatched by anything else in the plane set. You can spiral climb to 12k at 120 mph and never go outside the base parimeter. Your controls get heavy at high speed because you are flying with Combat Trim on. Turn it off and trim manually. The ailerons don't get heavy at all, roll rate falls off as speeds exceed 400 mph, but it will still out-roll just about everything else except the 190s and P-38L (which is the fastest roller above 400 mph).

If the Ki-84 has any weaknesses, it's in acceleration and low level speed. Both are only average at best. But taken as a whole, the Hayate is one of the best all around packages in AH2.

IMO Typhoons will have a hard time mixing it up with Ki-84s. Better to stay fast and use those 4 hizookas snap-shooting. Nexx, treat Ki-84s like you would any fighter that climbs better than a Niki, rolls like a 190, turns like a SpitV and has the fire power of the Dora (shorter clip tho).
