Movie: Dark Blue World
« on: November 14, 2004, 05:47:03 PM »
Don't know if you guys have seen this film. It’s called "Dark Blue World."  I watched this movie several times already. Came out in 2001. It blows Pearl Harbor away (Don't care too much for Jerry Bruckhiemer Eye Candy Fluff).  Director Jan Sverák's Dark Blue World embraces sentimentality with such brio it is hard to resist. The film relays the little-known WWII story of Czech fighter pilots who escaped the Nazi occupation of their country to fight in Britain's Royal Air Force. IMHO an excellent piece of cinematography.

After reading all the intellectual, witty, and garbage threads in this BB and trying to ignore the sometimes frustrating aspects of Aces High game play, the movie clip below sums up why I come back every day to play this damn game.

This is a clip from the DVD - Enjoy!

If the local Blockbuster has it I'll check it out to decide if it's a keeper.

The love story isn't sappy and overdone; the relationships are pretty believable (unless your 16 years old, of course, then it all seems weird).  yeah, there's lots of "pretty shots" camera wise....  It's worth seeing.

While working on getting a free Ipod, I signed up for a trial of the Blockbuster version of netflix and finally got to see this.

Was surprised at the overall quality of the film. It was much better than I was expecting. The ariel scenes are some of the best I've seen, but the story lost my interest any time there wasn't a plane in frame.

Decent rental, but don't think I'll buy it unless I run across it in a bargin bin.

Thanks for the recommendation, though.

Olden. The aerial shots are from Battle of Britain.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
