Thanks Star.  I just never had the time to enable WMP to go looking for it again.  Good man!

SA2,
I am not sure if that is really it.  I have WMP10 installed and it has never given me any problems that I noticed.  I went through all my Services again a week ago using -
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm

I disabled the Service you reference, but WMP still funtions normally and I didn't notice any performance change.  I don't think that Service is used by much yet but it didn't hurt to disable it and Task List said it uses about 1.2 MB of memory doing nothing.

I had no problems from it either at first.  Just recently I've noticed CTD problems and been trying to eliminate causes.  So far no more CTD discos since I deleted the file references.  I dont think it hurts WMP 10 to remove the file, this is not a real driver, its a system integration manager.  And your right, I really dont think they are using this much yet.  Some of the complaints I saw on the internet though have people complaining that the process will seemingly randomly try to connect to the internet, hogging resources and messing up your internet connection.  Perhaps its related to an autoupdater for the WMP?  I dont know.  I cant even swear it was the cause of my problems, but so far all is well even in heavy traffic areas and big bog down spots with lots of graphics and lots of other planes flying around.

Ahh, if WMP10 still works, then this is not the culprit I had found.  You know it by the fact WMP10 will no longer start after you kill it.
