Saw it on The Daily Show last night. They are running TV ads trying to drum up support. In one of Arnold's commercials they say "the constitution has been amended on average once every eight years since 1900." "We MUST amend the constitution for Arnold and 12 million other Americans!" Why do I think it's got nothing to do with the 12 million other Americans?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

Because we need a Macho Man for president.  Who do you want, Ahnuld or Sylvester Stallone?  Oh wait ... there's the ticket, Ahnuld with Syl as veep, Tony Soprano as SecDef, Chuck Norris as Homeland Security Czar, Jackie Chan as SecState, and the blond hitman from Fargo as Chief of Protocol.

I don't see why a US citizen can't be president just because of his birth place.

I guess you can be a US citizen, but not be a 100% american.  We've had presidents before that weren't born in the US. Seems a little xenophobic to limit the rights of US citizens based on who their parents are.

Hell, if a person comes to this country and becomes a successfu and contributing US citizen, that makes him more ideally american than half of the americans that were native born, in my eyes. But then I feel that being an american is something that should be earned. I'm weird like that.

Maybe we should issue color coded social security cards, so we can identify the limit of every americans individual rights more easily.

I believe the requirement is to be an american citizen at birth, regardless of birth place.  Foriegn nationals who become US citizens are currently not eligble for the presidency.

RT... liberal actors are not electable and would be horrible politicians... conservative actors often get elected to high office and serve admirably.

The advantage to an actor is that he has no political bagage stored up and is allready very powerful and rich.   He has allready proven himself and can be comfortable in the role.

What about the governor or Michigan.  She was born in Canada.  Why should ANY governor of a state be prohibited from running for president?

How many current members of Congress are foreign born?
