Do you have a firewall running?  If so, you have to allow Aces High access through it everytime an update to the game happens.

Howdy fullguy,

I was having major problems connecting to the game as well.  After AH2 came out I never had problems connecting to the game at all.   After a few months I noticed I was getting discoed on a regular basis.  Then, I was not connecting to the game when I first tried to log in.   If I did log in and key my mic I would immediately lose connection.   I called Roy and talked to him several times and it was determined that I had way to many processes running in the background.   I had 44!!    I also had alot of malware and spyware running on my computer that I did not know about.    If you are running Windows XP press Ctrl-alt-delete and bring up your task manager and see how many processes are running on your computer.

Fullguy,

Sorry I have not gotten back to you since my last post.

Go to the above website and see what processes you have running when you bring up Task Manager.   Then look at your processes and cross reference those with what you find on the site and see what they are used for.   Some processes you HAVE to have running and some you can turn off.    Also, you may be able to find some spyware/malware programs running on task manager.

Also go to your Control Panel and bring up add/remove programs. See what programs you have on your computer.  If you see something that looks funny or suspicious, write the program down and let us know what it is.    I am NOT an expert at this and I am a computer dweeb.   I had Roy help me out ALOT.     I for instance found several programs on add/remove programs that I DID NOT install. They were spyware that was installed unbeknown to me. Yes, it does happen and will happen if you are not careful.

The above site has the processes listed in alphabetical order.   Take for instance winlogon.exe.   Obviously its listed under the "W" tab button on the site.    Go over each and every process that is listed on your task manager and cross reference with the site to see what they are. The site will tell you if it is safe to turn off or leave a specific process running.

When I log on to my computer I have programs that start when I boot up.  Like Kodak,McAfee Virus,Nvidia, and others. I just right click on those programs on my system tray at the lower right on my screen and exit those programs when I want to run AH2.

Once again sorry I was so late returning your question.  I was off for two days of duck hunting.      Best of luck with everything and please let us know how you are doing with your system.    I really hope this helps you out.
Take care......................... ..............Joe

No problem.    Looking forward to your post.   I sure hope your troubles go away after you find out where the problem/s lay.
I went thru the same thing with not being able to connect.  The map screen would appear and then the host connect box would appear.

Heres another thing I just remembered.  When you log and see all of the arenas, what numbers are showing under the PING column?   Are the numbers jumping all over the place or are they steady?  When I was having troubles my PING column #'s were jumping all over the place.   Now, my PING #'s are right around 32 or 31.

Take care.

Hi SEgunner, i tried some of you suggestion there were some items in the control panel that i did not reconise so i removed them, this did not disrupt the computer in any way so that was great also on the bottom tool bar i found a number of items running, i closed these items and then logged on to AH2 and did not encounter any problems so far apart from when i click on arena it takes about 1 to 2 mins to bring arena up i sure this is not the norm because i remember AH1 it came in about 30 secs, anyway im not to concerned about that at least im not getting that messege( host lost connection) touch wood, i'll see how it goes, once again thanks for your input and no dout i'll be picking your brains in the future, all the best and thanks.

I also have to wait anywhere from 1 to 2 minutes for the game to connect.   Not sure what that is but like you with AH1 it only took a few seconds to connect.

Thats great that you were able to connect to the game.  Glad I was able to help you with your connection problems.   Roy helped me out alot so I was just passing along info that I got from him.

Take care and look forward to seeing you in the game.
