What to eat while camping:

Use a cast-iron skillet

Take a whole package of bacon.  Cut it into two inch long pieces with a pair of tin shears (clean them well if you've been using them to take the wings off of quail)

Cook the bacon until almost done and remove bacon.  Leave grease

Add diced potatos.  Cook potatos until they're almost done.  They will soak up all the grease.

When potatos are almost done, add in a couple of eggs.  When eggs are almost done, add the bacon and bunch of cheese.

Use heavy-duty spatula to remove whole thing from skillet.  Serve with cowboy coffee and Tapatio sauce.

When I was in scouts we used to make something like that.  We called it shepards brew.  Basically potatoes, onions peppers, sausage, bacon, eggs, and bread.  Brown all the meats, throw it all into a dutch oven (iron pot with lid that you cover with charcole...not the bedroom trick ;)  ) put it in the coals with the lid off.  Let sit for a little bit than crack four eggs on top of everything.  Cover with lid than cover with coals.  When the eggs on top are fried the whole thing is done.   OH I forgot lots and lots of cheese.

HMMMMMMM I'm gonna go make me some buscuits and gravey now.

Considering the direction that this thread has taken, the title I chose for it has proven to be very apt.
