Man, Nils.....that's tuff. Old people are so cool...dontcha wish they could hang around longer? They have so much to offer, if only people would take the time to sit and listen to them. I sat down with my grandpa, some years ago when he was 93, and taped a 2.5 hour conversation with him. We talked about his boyhood (born in 1896), the depression, WWII, life in general. That tape is one of my most prized possessions. Soon I'm gonna make my 17 y.o. son sit down and listen to it.

I'm glad to hear you were so close to her. I know you must be a better man for her being in your life.

So true slimm. Take good care of that recording and the memories... they are priceless.

I lived in the same house as her from the day I was born until I moved out in my early 20's so we had a lot of fun and talked for hours and she had a big part in my teaching me about life and how it used to be.

I feel truly sad for those younger people that can't or won't spend time with an older generation either because they don't have any, or are to busy with computers or other activities that are more "fun".
