Since it's common to you, your wife's, your son's, and your boss's computers, my guess is you are running some software application on all of those computers that is causing this. It can't be a hardware issue, it would be highly unlikely that there is a common hardware problem to them all, unless you got four identical computers on a package deal.
Since your boss's computer has it too, is there a firewall or anti-virus program that is common to all 4 computers? Is there some other software application that is on all four?
You might try a fresh reformat of your HD, install Windows and the drivers for your chipset, ethernet card, video card, DX-9c ect, but do NOT install any business applications, anti-virus, firewall, security ect software applications. The only applicaion you should install is AHII. Then see if there is any problems running AHII.
If not, start adding software that you need one at a time until you find the application that is causing the conflicts.
